Dr Tom Widger (University of Sussex/FSCR) and Ms Tharindi Udalagama (University of Colombo) convened the Suicide in Sri Lanka: Past, Present & Future Transformations symposium in March 2013. Generously supported by the Department of Sociology, University of Colombo, World Health Organisation, and National Science Foundation of Sri Lanka, two-day event brought together scholars and practitioners from across Sri Lanka and around the world. The aim of the event was to share the results of new research, discuss findings concerning new intervention efforts, and develop ideas and plans for future collaborations. The presentations included:
